Frequently asked questions
How is the needed score calculated?
Needed = (target − current × (1 − final weight)) ÷ final weight. It solves for the final score that makes your weighted average hit your target.
What if it says I need over 100%?
It means the target isn't reachable with this final's weighting — even a perfect score falls short. Aim for a realistic grade, or check whether extra credit is available.
Where do I find the final's weight?
It's in your syllabus — often listed as “Final Exam: 30%” or similar. Enter that percentage.
