About the Alphabetical Order Tool

Put any list in alphabetical order free — paste your items (one per line), pick A→Z or Z→A, and copy the sorted result instantly. It sorts numbers naturally (item2 before item10), ignores case, and can strip duplicate entries in the same pass. Perfect for name lists, bibliographies, keyword lists, invitee lists, and cleaning up spreadsheet columns without formulas.

Frequently asked questions

How are numbers sorted?

Naturally — “item 2” comes before “item 10”, unlike plain text sorting where 10 would jump ahead.

Is the sort case-sensitive?

No — “apple” and “Apple” sort together. Duplicate removal is case-insensitive too.

Can I alphabetize by last name?

Paste names as “Last, First” and sort — the comma format puts surnames first, which is how bibliographies do it.
